I never planned to start a blog — let alone one that blends surgical precision with sleepless nights and baby giggles. But here we are.
Life of a Woman at 35
Turning 35 has always felt like a huge milestone in my mind.
Somehow, I used to think this was the deadline by which I needed to have both my career and my family figured out.
But I’ve realized it’s not really like that — and not because I didn’t achieve those things, but because limits are stupid.
Medicine, Gratitude, and Purpose
As for what I have achieved, I am deeply grateful to the hundreds of patients who trusted me, who let me heal them, and who allowed me to put a piece of my love for medicine into their lives — helping them function again, or even look in the mirror with pride.
Thank you!
Building a Family — By Choice, Not Obligation
I’m also on the beautiful path of growing my family after almost ten years in a relationship.
Not because I have to, or because “that’s what people do,” or because the lady at the hair salon said so — but simply because that’s what we wanted.
Because the two of us, together, have always been more.
We’ve pushed each other, lifted each other up, supported one another, and brought each other back on track.
And I’m not saying this like those couples who post love declarations on Facebook but don’t even talk at home.
I say it because relationships nowadays seem to have gone off track, and I want to share a few truths.
A Few Truths About Love and Reciprocity
Ladies, you are not “special.”
You are not more special than the man beside you.
You deserve exactly as much as you give.
That’s true in life, in everything.
If you cook, you deserve to be taken out to dinner.
If you make love — not just clock-watching sex — you deserve satisfaction in bed.
If you build a home, you deserve a family.
If you work hard, or support your partner so he can work without other worries, you deserve financial stability.
If you are joyful and bring happiness into your home instead of endless criticism and complaints, you deserve peace and happiness in return.
The Myth of the “Independent Woman”
Don’t let yourselves be brainwashed by mass media telling us that the “modern woman” doesn’t need a man, a child, or anything besides her career.
It’s just a way to feed unhappiness and consumerism.
And don’t wait for Prince Charming until you become the princess you would choose, if you were in his place.
Life will always send you the male equivalent of who you truly are.
The Power of Giving
At the end of the day, all that matters is what we give — whether we’re women or men.
To love will always feel more beautiful than to be loved.
It’s the purest, most powerful fuel.
It’s the gasoline that gets us out of bed in the morning!
Being loved without loving back can even feel uncomfortable — we’ve all been there at some point in life.
I think this is the biggest revelation I’ve had in 35 years.
Loving Work and Loving People
It is wonderful to love your work, with all its challenges — even when people are difficult, anxious, or unhappy with what they see in the mirror.
Because in those moments, they place their hopes in our hands, and we must never take that for granted.
We deserve only as much as we give back: patience, understanding, and the best possible care.
Family: The Lifelong Project
It is wonderful to love both the family you were born into and the one you chose to build.
But with the family you build, you are 100% responsible — to create it, to grow it, and hardest of all, to maintain it.
There is no time-out, no “I’m married now, so he has to take care of me,” no “I had a baby, now they have to support and love me.”
What does exist is:
“I got married, and now I have a lifelong project — to create the happiest, most united family.”
What does exist is:
“I had a child, and now I must work — together with my husband — to become the best versions of ourselves in our child’s life, the most beautiful example of unity, peace, ambition, and creativity.”
There are no pauses in a career or in a relationship.
Time doesn’t stop.
